My Two Loves

Aren't they just too cute?

I was reading another blog last night and she was talking about how this little old lady approached her and her husband commenting on how she can see much love they have for each other and how sweet it was. It made me think of a complement my husband got the other day while shopping at Target with our daughter. He said this little old lady came up to him and said " You know everyone always says that seeing a man with a baby is so handsome. And I never thought so,till now. You look so handsome." Little old ladies ROCK!
My heart just melted when he told me this. What a beautiful comment! And FACT! He is so handsome!!!

Blahhh...

So I just realized, I'm boring!! My life has nothing really exciting to tell you. Sad. I thought with this blog I would have fun goofy stuff to talk about but right now I don't. I'm so sorry. I know I'm the worst blogger ever.
I had another birthday on Tuesday. Yeah me. Another year older. So I guess after 30 life just gets boring. Huhh.... Well, I guess I have 40 to look forward to since I hear it's the new 20's. Whoo hoo ! Goooooo 40's!
Oh, my beautiful daughter started crawling and pulling herself up on things all in the same week. And last week started sitting up all by herself for long periods of time. Everyone told me it just goes by too fast but come on. This is nuts!! Sitting, crawling and pulling herself up on things all in a 2 week span. Next week she'll be graduating from High school and off to college. " Baby, Please slow down. Mommy wants this to last forever and keep you little. But I'm so proud of you and love watching you grow and establish your independence. Your amazing!!"
She also started daycare last week. Two days a week while I'm at work. She has so much fun!! I was so nervous letting her go. All the anxiety of her being around other kids who's parents send them to daycare SICK, germs, picking up not- so- great behaviors from the others, a "stranger" taking my place, missing two days of her life! Oh God, it was terrible. But I'm better now. She obviously loves it. Mary Poppins (I'll call her) takes pictures of her everyday with the other kids and when I call ( only like once a day) she gives me an update of what baby has been doing so far, playing, laughing, eating, etc. Last week Mary tells me Baby really has a thing for Barbie's. Barbie's! My daughter whom I try to keep away from the ridiculously, commercialized products out there , loves BARBIE!  She's 7 months old. HELP ME NOW!
Oh and she got a cold on the second day she was there.

Purple Huh??

So I saw this blog thing on my friend S'mee's blog and thought "I wonder what weird color I would be?"  I got PURPLE!  I used to love purple. My whole house was purple. Everything! Now that I'm older though I have been veering off to other colors like burnt oranges, deep reds, honey yellows and even greens. Anyways back to the quiz, So then I started reading what purple means. People envy, idolize and copy you without realizing it! HA    Your an icon for those who know you. WHAT?? Whatever. This is too funny. I just thought OK this was a goofy quiz. Then I got to really reading it and thinking of my job and maybe... Maybe it is me.

You Are a Purple Crayon

Your world is colored in dreamy, divine, and classy colors.
You hold yourself to a sky high standard, and you are always graceful.
People envy, idolize, and copy you without realizing it. You are an icon for those who know you.
And while it is hard to be a perfectionist, rest assured it's paying off!

Your color wheel opposite is yellow. While yellow people may be wise, they lack the manners and class needed to impress you.

Your world is colored in dreamy, divine, and classy  colors. When I do people's hair I do try and choose colors that are best for them and their skin color. Natural beautiful colors. Not something that screams " I color my hair!!" Though I do like the funky, wild colors too sometimes but it has to fit the person to work.

You hold yourself to the sky high standard, and your always graceful. I do have a high standard with the work I put out and work place and do my best to get it there. ( the work place is a little harder to do though. Come on, I work with a bunch of woman. 3/4 of which are under 23 and single)

People envy, idolize, and copy you without realizing it. Nor do I.

You are an icon for those who know you. I don't know about ICON  but I do have many satisfied client's and get many complements on my work. Which is THE BEST reward for me in the end, besides making my own schedule. :-P

And while it is hard to be a perfectionist, rest assured it's paying off!  This is so true about me. I am hard on myself about making sure each client in my chair has the best haircut, color, do, whatever they want done, each and every time. And especially that they are happy with it. They are my walking billboards. I have to be! And I guess it's paying off because they come back!! sometimes with friends!

I don't mean to sound like I'm tooting my own horn here. I'm really not. I've just been really trying to step back and look at my life and job and try to see all the positives instead of the negatives in it. "We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make our world." ~ Buddha
 Thanks for listening!! :-)

Adoption Day

My husband and I were blessed with the most precious gift anyone could give in June of 2007, Our Daughter. We chose an Open Adoption and had a short relationship with the birthmom before our baby was born. Despite our efforts unfortunately she has had no contact with us or "the Baby" since her birth. Next to my wedding day, that day in June was the most beautiful, amazing, happiest, craziest day of my life! WOW!!
Since June of 2007 my husband ,"the baby" and I have had to have monthly visits with the Adoption Agency. These visits were either at the agency it self in L.A. (about a 2 hour drive from where we live) or at a support group in Orange County.(1 1/2 hours away) This is something that has to be done for at least 6 months and until the adoption is "Final". Those were long drives for us especially since the groups were on Mondays and would not get started until 7:00 p.m. But last month was our last one!!  We received our Finalization date For January 4, 2008, yesterday!!
What an exciting day it was! Our friends and family were there in the court room with us. I could just feel the love radiating off of them. It was wonderful. The judge asked a few questions, yada yada, and then said " Your adoption Request is Granted! Congratulations" and the gavel was struck down! (so cool)  And the chill went down my back. We were done. I have always felt that "baby" was meant to be our daughter the day we met the b - mom. But this made it legal and over. No more tiny little voice saying, but what if b-mom changes her mind? what if... what if...?  Like the gavel just smashed that voice out! "Granted, now see ya!" It was gwonderful. We took some pictures with the judge (again, so cool of him) then while everyone went to the restaurant husband, and I waited for the certified  documents then went and celebrated!
It was a wonderful day! Even though it was so cold and windy and rainy outside the sun was shining all around us!
